150614 Pushmi-pullyu

150614_LRI did think of photoshopping a couple of llamas together for this, as there is a llama farm en route to the elderly relative’s abode, but grappling with the cardboard at the re-cycling point involved far more pushing and pulling than a two-heade llama could undergo. I had a pile of heavy duty cardboard boxes and neither knife nor scissors about my person. Jumping up and down on them was the only means of flattening them to size, but the stuff was pretty solid and my efforts resulted in varying degrees of success – definitely a case of pushmi-pullyu: ‘An imaginary creature resembling a llama or antelope, but with a head at either end of the body, pointing away from the torso, so that the creature always faces in two directions at once. Hence in extended and allusive use.’ (OED)

Day #166 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
