This hour was definitely one of the best of the shoot! Mr P took us girls to the rather swishy cocktail bar “The Duck and Waffle” for cocktails and views. Surprisingly, we weren’t challenged on dress-code, but (unsurprisingly) we were challenged on our photographic intentions, therefore a couple of grab shots was about all we could do. The D&W is situated on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower and it is fabulously weird being on the same level as the top of the Gherkin and the top of the Shard. The D&W is reached by a glass lift and it feels like being teleported. The lift ride was as good as anything at Disney World, but riding it up and down was not encouraged:-) The cocktails are good as well – mine was a warming concoction of rum and ginger beer. Definitely another one to add to the list for re-visiting, but I shall be more suitably attired next time. Perhaps I can persuade MisterMac to take me there for dinner!
