100215 Maladroit

I hate buying make-up, but the supplies needed replenishing. The reason for this hatred is that the assistants tend to be somewhat “maladroit”: ‘Lacking in adroitness or dexterity; awkward, bungling, clumsy, inept’, (OED). The ineptitude is manifested through fresh-faced teenagers pointing out all the customer’s age-induced flaws, whilst swearing that they have the same problems with wrinkles, bags and blemishes but their new super-disguise range – scientifically proven, of course – is covering it all up. Actually, this perhaps fits more in the ‘lying’ and ‘tactlessness’ categories than the ‘maladroit’ one.

Day #41 of the second 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
