Today’s word was “surfari” meaning: ‘A journey made by surfers in search of good conditions for surfing or to visit several beaches suitable for surfing; (also) a group of surfers undertaking such a journey. Freq. in on surfari’, OED. I was surprised at today’s choice, having anticipated that it might be something more in the druid or solstice direction. Anyway, as I was on Photo 24, and a long way from any surf turf, I had to compromise. These were the all-nighters on #Photo24London on Waterloo Bridge waiting for sunrise. The Bridge is over the river, the river leads to the sea and the sea has surf … It was a fantastically fun night with great company and fab photo opps, all in the capital, which was positively buzzing. I’m ready to go and do it again! Some images from the Night’s Watch here.

Day #172 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
