270314_LR Not really a word of the day, more of a phrase of the day – quot homines tot sententiae, which means: ‘”There are as many opinions as there are men”: expressing the fact that there is considerable diversity of opinion, and the difficulty of bringing about agreement (OED)’. And what better representation of opinion formers than taxi-drivers. In fact, today’s pic is full of opinion – or rather subjects about which there are many diverse opinions: Lady Di, Routemasters and Tottenham. Who knew that postcards could be so controversial? Elsewhere, my evening of om was fabulous – as we journeyed from Frenchman’s Creek to France and back to Cornwall, stopping at Jamaica Inn. I now have this urge to re-read the whole bibliography for the quintillionth time. Tonight I shall dream I went to Mandalay …

Day #86 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
