200314_LRI said earlier in the week that the weather over here has been – and still is – all over the place. So today’s word of the day – rabi, meaning ‘In South Asia: the spring season’ (OED), whilst relevant to the astronomical calendar and the spring equinox, was not very relevant to the actual weather in Vienna where it reached a very summery 23 degrees. The “beach” was busy, the beers were flowing and the ice-cream parlours flung open their doors with vigour.
