190214 A Charlie Foxtrot of a mogul

190214Mogul (today’s word of the day) is another term prompted by the Winter Olympics (@ Mrs R – only four more days!). It means ‘A bump on a ski slope, by which a skier’s progress may be impeded’ (OED). Unfortunately SW3 was snow free, skier free and bump free, so I had to take a figurative stance, which was relatively easy as we had a situation today that has definitely impeded progress. In fact, it was much more than a mogul and I prefer the term “clusterf**k”, which is how my co-pilot described it (or Charlie Foxtrot as is preferred in polite company). Without going into detail, it involved a charity (not the RPS, I hasten to add), an electricity meter and British Gas. If it follows the same path as British Gas and our boiler, then like The Mousetrap, this is set to run and run. The day was rescued by an invitation to the private view of Photo Noir – The Art of Cornel Lucas, which was utterly, utterly brilliant. If you get the chance, it’s a must see!

Day #50 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
