160214 In case of nivosity

160214_LRThe OED is anticipating bad weather, it appears. Today’s word was nivosity, meaning ‘Snowiness; a resemblance to snow’ (OED). I guess there were a number of things that could have gone into the pot – I could have sought someone with snowy-shite hair, could have found some white powder from somewhere or even travelled north to find the real thing. However, as I had other photographic tasks today (watch this space), I had to find a quick nivosity, kindly provided by the ski-clothing emporium on the King’s Road. I’m not sure that nivosity will be entering my vocabulary, but I do like the word ‘snowiness’ so I think that will be a keeper.

Day #47 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
