On reflection, this doesn’t bear any relation to the graveyard scene from The Third Man – wrong avenue, wrong character facing the wrong way, but I did get the hat! The Viennese take death very seriously and the day was spent recording some interesting aspects of the subject. It started with a visit to the funeral museum (photography allowed but on the strict understanding it doesn’t appear on the net), followed by a trip to the pet cemetery before going to the main cemetery.
