I thought I would have a wander down to the Royal Hospital Chelsea to get a feel for the place and learn something about its history, in preparation for tomorrow evening. Tomorrow, I’m giving a talk to the Chelsea Pensioners who have started a small camera club there. IMHO, the RHC is a blueprint for senior citizen living and the concept should be rolled out across the country. The RHC is like a charming little village, with its own shop, post office, infirmary, chapel, social club etc. All the residents are extremely friendly and it is always a pleasure to see them out and about, and rather selfishly, from a photographic viewpoint, we love seeing them in their red coats as they make wonderful subjects. There is a lovely little museum there, which tells you everything you want to know about the history and I can thoroughly recommend a visit. They also sell jolly nice Christmas cards. Anyway, more on the Chelsea Pensioners tomorrow after I have introduced them to the wicked ways of Flickr and blogging!
