110514 Motherese spoken here

110514_LRI didn’t realise that it was Mother’s Day in the US today, but that would explain the word of the day being “Motherese”, which is ‘A simplified form of language used (esp. by mothers) in speaking to babies and young children, characterized by repetition, simple sentence structure, limited vocabulary, onomatopoeia, and expressive intonation; child-directed speech; “baby talk”’, (OED). I suspect that this sweet little car is addressed in motherese.

Day #131 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
